Elvis’s Jewelry to Be Auctioned this January at the Graceland Estate

Elvis and diamond/jewelry enthusiasts alike will be thrilled to learn that various pieces of jewelry having once belonged to the King of Rock and Roll, or gifted by him to a variety of recipients, are set to be auctioned next month at the legend's Memphis, Tennessee home, Graceland. The items include a diamond and gemstone ring, a gold necklace, a gold watch, a gold digital watch, and a very special guitar, with which Elvis performed on stage. Sale estimates for these artifacts are quite high, but will most likely surpass the envisioned sums.

Diamond, Gold, and Rock Crystal Quartz Ring

While Elvis Presley owned and kept many impressive things, he also chose to gift some of his closest friends and acquaintances with several of these lavish items. One such item, which will be auctioned off at Graceland on January 7, 2016, is a diamond, gold, and rock crystal quartz ring that Elvis gave to Linda Thompson decades ago. It is believed that this jewel will bring in $15,000 to $20,000.

Gold Necklace

Another jewelry piece to be auctioned is a 14K gold necklace, which Elvis gave as a gift to his bodyguard, Sam Thompson. The necklace features the initials "TCB." The piece is valued between $12,000 and $15,000.

Gold Watches

Two watches, also gifted by Elvis to very lucky recipients, will be auctioned off as well on January 7. These watches include a Baume & Mercier gold watch, which was given to a member of the band "The Imperials," Armond Morales. It was given to him in 1969 at the International Hotel in Las Vegas and is believed to rake in somewhere between $10,000 and $15,000. Another watch is a gold digital Omega TC1 timepiece, complete with an inscription. Elvis gave the watch as a gift to his friend and fellow musician, Charlie Hodge. This watch is estimated at $4,000 to $6,000.

"Aloha from Hawaii" Guitar

This last item is not a piece of jewelry, but rather, a guitar. It is not a bejeweled guitar or anything of the sort. What makes it unique, and estimated at $300,000 to $500,000, is the fact that it was used by Elvis to play onstage at the Aloha from Hawaii concert in 1973 and was later given in 1975 to a fan in the front row at a Asheville, North Carolina concert.

This one-of-a-kind auction, which is run by Graceland Auctions, is a rare opportunity for Elvis fans to own a part of the singing sensation's history as well as for jewelry collectors to add an intriguing and beautiful piece to their collections. Several of the items can be viewed at the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum until January 7 and bids will be accepted online and in person at the Graceland Estate.

We can only hope that our jewelry has the same affect on one's eyes that his music had on one's ears.
