Though the show “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” was intended to portray a celebrity couple as having a fairytale life, it was short-lived as was the couple’s marriage. On the bright side, the likeable blonde pop singer found her true love, Eric Johnson, and had two children with him. Recently, the pair made their relationship official and tied the knot. As in typical Jessica style, the wedding was lavish and very much a fairytale. This time, however, she had too adorable children to show for, including two-year-old Maxwell who was the appointed flower girl. Everything at this affair, from the apparel to the jewels to the décor, was tasteful and elaborate. Here is a look at some of the highlights of this July 5th wedding.
Glamorous Garb
Jessica may be a lot of things, but subtle she is not. Therefore, her choice of wedding gown was both bold and breathtaking. Her embellished Caroline Herrera wedding gown included much tulle, for a true princess look. Because her dress was so out there, her selection of jewels was on the simple side.
Ring Bling
The engagement ring that Jessica received from Eric Johnson was a ruby and diamond piece that is absolutely stunning. Celebrity designer Neil Lane designed the ring, as well as the couple’s wedding bands. In order to complete the look, Lane created a wedding ring for Jessica that consisted of 5 carats worth of round and marquise shaped diamonds set upon a yellow and rose gold band. Eric’s ring is a combination of Jessica’s engagement ring and her wedding ring: it is a yellow gold Art Deco-inspired ring that boasts colorless diamonds and a red ruby.
Earrings Galore
Having a regal designer gown and custom wedding bands was not enough for Princess Jessica. She also had to have exquisite diamond earrings for everyone in her wedding party, also Neil Lane design, including her mother, mother-in-law, and sister, singer Ashlee Simpson. Jessica’s earrings were 12-carat diamond drop earrings. Each piece included a solitaire stone that sat upon the ear lobe with a delicate yellow gold strand holding an even larger diamond surrounded with yellow gold. Sister Ashlee’s embellished Marchesa dress was paired with stunning 18th century chandelier earrings.
There is no denying it: the tanned beauty looked angelic and happy as can be at this dreamy wedding. She may be slightly curvier this time around, but hopefully, these Neil Lane rings will be permanent fixtures upon her delicate fingers. As if to show that these nuptials are for real and full of love this time around, Eric’s tuxedo pants split down the back as he caught his two toddlers in his arms. Everything went on as usual despite the wardrobe malfunction, indicating that as beautiful as all the wedding details might be, what really matters is Eric and Jessica’s relationship and their beautiful little family.
