Held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on May 20 was the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
Although there was an undercurrent of sadness due to the untimely passing of Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, and most recently Robin Gibb, as is always the case, “the show must go on.”
Once again, the competition on the red carpet was ferocious but this year it seems as though the uncontested winner was country crooner, Carrie Underwood.
Underwood was resplendent in a strapless rose and silver tulle gown from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2012 collection, accessorized with a jeweled de la Renta Cara clutch.
However, it was her jewelry that really stole the show. Carrie sparkled in a stunning pair of Johnathon Arndt 14.08 carat Internally Flawless solitaire white diamond earrings priced at a cool USD6.8 million with a matching 6.45 carat white diamond bangle.
Johnathon Arndt also designed the one of a kind pair of 19.00 carat fancy yellow diamond and white Diamond ribbon chandelier earrings with a matching yellow diamond ring Carrie wore on the stage when she performed her hit song "Blown Away."
